The Peggy the Pig books are still my favorites. I wrote and illustrated 4 books about Peggy: The Viper, A Dark and Noisy Night, The Aliens Are Coming! and The Scarecrow's New Clothes (Dutton). Each of these stories is a little bit scary which helps engage the reader. But they each end with a funny twist.
Early on, I illustrated 2 books about the Two Silly Trolls by Nancy Jewell (HarperCollins - I Can Read). These were Early Readers with chapters and were so much fun. The characters were loosely modeled after my in-laws.
Jess and the Stinky Cowboys by Janice Lee Smith (Dial) was another Early Reader with chapters. I got to use my love of dogs with this one!
All Better (Golden Books - Road To Reading) was another book I wrote about a pig! Sally, who just might be Peggy's cousin, keeps getting hurt no matter what she does but carries on cheerfully nonetheless.
